The first year after my DH and I married, he wanted to buy me all the things I wanted but could never afford. This was second marriage for both of us. Valentine's Day is my birthday. So this first one, he took the day off, got the kids out of school early too. I didn't know he was doing that. I took half the day off. My DH was in a panic when I called to say I was coming home because he was trying to get everything delivered and arranged. When I got home the kids and DH surprised me with wonderful roses and a cake! I was speechless! And blind too...I didn't notice at first, the brand new piano the flowers and cake were sitting on!

I can't top the first story but.........one of my favorite Valentine Day stories is from when my DD#1 was in kindergarten and I was the room mother taking care of business when one little boy asked me to help him read his valentines from his mailbox. He couldn't yet read so he asked me who each valentine was from.......if by chance it was from one of "his friends" he had me read the entire card. If it wasn't from someone he considered his friends he ripped it up without reading the sentiment. I felt very lucky he didn't rip up the one from my daughter!! Kathie k.bugbee@att.net love #2 Sweet

My story isn't funny, but this is certainly my most memorable Valentine. I love pink roses, and to ensure that I always had the roses that I love, the first year we were dating, my then boyfriend-now husband bought me a rose bush that bears the most beautiful pink roses! That was nearly 16 years ago, and I still have that rose bush even after 5 moves! Every time we moved, my husband carefully dug up and replanted the rose bush...as it continues to thrive, so does our love, even after all these years! A little corny, but isn't that what makes life worth living? (I choose Sweet Stitches No. 2)

I think the nicest thing to do on Valentine's day would be to be able to spend the evening curled up in front of a lovely roaring fire, just DH and I, with a nice bottle of wine and some lovely music and just to catch up with each other all snuggly and warm. Just being together is precious enough (not that we would ever say no to the eveing out etc!!) lol

Hi Tracy,
Just in case, I like sweet stitches no.2. But they are both lovely! As for valentines day, well I'm afraid it's not a day remembered much by my valentine. The perfect valentines day would be a peaceful day, perhaps with some stitching, in front of a nice movie; with some chocolates, wine and flowers thrown in. Oh, and no cooking and washing up for the day! But then if dinner out was mentioned, I'd be there for that too. Sounds like you might celebrate valentines day early when Mr Plumcute arrives. Hope you have a perfectly wonderful time!

A few years ago I decided I was against the concept of buying presents for my boyfriend for valentine's day and started setting up pranks. The first time, I got my roommate to join me - we took hot pink t-shirts, cut them into ponchos, and drew all over them in puffy paint. I even got "I am the prettiest princess" on the front of mine.
On Valentine's Day, we sat both of our boyfriends down and dressed them in these things. The kicker? My boyfriend wore his to work. He thought it was hilarious.

Hi. i love your stitcheries. The first one best. But sad to say I don't have any Valentine Day story to tell. We are not use to celebrate it here in Norway. But I hope you all have a wonderful day and some great memories.

Hi Tracy,
I don't really have a Valentine story, but your post made me think of how we celebrated Valentine's Day at school when I was a kid. Did anyone else cover old shoe boxes with red and pink paper in hopes of collecting as many Valentines as possible? I remember that I always loved making those boxes (probably the early stages of my creative side :)!
Love the new patterns. No. 2 is my favorite :) Now off to find a shoebox...

I have been single for the past 10 years while raising my son(I couldn't ask for a better kid).I dated but not seriously in my son's best interest,so he'll be off to college this year(his gpa is 4.25,yes I'm a proud mom).so about 3 months ago I decided it was time to get out there and I met a wonderful man who I hope is the one,my son has not met him yet.At the Modesto show I ordered you beloved kit and can't wait to make for him,I also made him a b-b-q apron and plan on having a nice romantic dinner and watch a movie.Thank you for something to make our guy's there's not much out there for them.HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.

I met my husband on valentines day at a church party. Seven months later we married and I can truly say my life has been full of valentines and love for almost 53 years. We are the proud parents of four children, eight grandchildren and one great gran. He is still the love of my life and he treats me like a queen.
